PSWinCom Professional is a complete client application for sending SMS messages to GSM phones. The application is mainly used as a message dispatcher for system  monitoring applications. Status reports from the system, for example of system failure, can be sent directly to you mobile phone as an SMS. 

The heart of the system is the PSWinCom Server, which is the sending engine that actually sends the messages. The messages are sent using a modem, an ISDN-device, a GSM device or a TCP/IP Internet connection. In addition to the Server there are several Add-on products included to provide message sending capabilities (interfaces) to users and other software products.

To send a message, you have to add the message to the message queue of the Server. The message queue is based on text files, and is actually a file directory on the PC or LAN. You can either write text files directly to the message queue, or use any of the Add-on products. The Add-on's are a collection of different interfaces between a user or another software, and the message queue of the Server. The intention of the Add-on's is to make it easy to provide message sending capabilities to users and other software products.

Message Services is an ActiveX DLL (COM) component to use as a link between the message queue and logs of the PSWinCom Server. it can also be used by other applications and in ASP web pages to send messages and check the status of sent messages.

Micro Client is a very small and simple user interface for manually sending messages. Ideal for sporadic use, sending test messages etc.

Standard Client is for manual sending, with predefined receivers and groups. Can be used both by a single PC and by several users on a LAN.

Textfile Transmitter picks up messages from files with different text formats produced by other applications. The program supports 7 different textfile formats.

DDE Link acts as a DDE server, receiving DDE messages from other Windows applications. it converts the messages, so that they can be written to the PSWinCom Server message queue.

Command Link sends messages through command lines. You start the program by setting the message data as command line parameter. The program starts transmitting messages to the server queue, before it automatically closes.

Mail Link picks up incoming mail to a dedicated POP-3 mail box, enabling users and systems to send messages via Mail (Outlook etc.)

Requirements

Operating system - Windows 98, ME, NT 4.0, 2000, 2003, XP.

Connection for sending messages - PSWinCom Server requires a TAPI device installed on the same PC, and/or an Internet connection (see below).

TAPI device - One or more of the following units can be used by PSWinCom Server:

• Modem , speed 9600bps or faster (To use with PSWinCom SMS Gateway Modem Entry, or other UCP/ TAP service)
• ISDN card with modem driver (To use with PSWinCom SMS Gateway Modem Entrance, or other UCP/ TAP service)
• AT+C compatible GSM device with SIM card (for direct sending using the GSM network)

Modem is recommended as default equipment. If ISDN line is to be used instead of an analog line: connect the modem to a terminal adapter or an analog outlet on the ISDN equipment.

Internet Connection

PSWinCom Server can use an Internet connection to send messages, by using the PSWinCom SMS Gateway. The Internet connection can be by LAN and network card, by ISDN or other solutions, with either permanent connection or automatic and fast dial-up/log in when Internet communication is required. Fixed IP address is not required. Choose between TCP or HTTP protocol.

One licence includes installing the PSWinCom Server on one computer. The server can handle sending an unlimited amount to programs, users and recipients. All add-on programmes are free of charge. The licence is a one time fee, that includes support and updates. The price includes a licence to use the software, not the SMS traffic.

PSWinCom Server requires temporary or permanent license to send messages with normal content. Without a valid license, all message text will be replaced by a standard message. All Add-on products are free and does not require any license.
